5. The Mainstay Inn, 1890

The Inn, housed in the 1890's Lucien Marcy House is one of Fairfield's grander buildings.  Built originally by a wealthy industrialist in the Queen Anne style, it is filled with fine detailing, most of which has been preserved.

The living areas are trimmed with the original butternut wood detailing, stained glass panels, and sliding panel doors with the original hardware.

Tall ceilings and fine proportioned rooms lend an elegant backdrop for high end furnishings, including Persian carpets, crystal chandeliers, fine European wallpapers and original art.
