 31. Burnett-Montgomery House

605 N. 3rd Street (built 1888)NRHP Logo

James Montgomery was affiliated with the Turney wagon works, and this old photo shows rejected wooden wagon hubs being used for fuel in his fireplace!

A ballroom takes up the third floor.  The cast-iron wrap-around porch and cast stone window headers are unusual in this area.

The large carriage house that was in the rear predates the house, but was torn down in 2009.
